Sedentary Laboratory

In our modern society we are guided by sedentary behaviour. This means we have an increasing inactivity in our daily routine. We sit at home, we sit at work and we sit in our leisure time. This lifestyle has consequences on our physique and movement (inflexible spine, craning neck, herniated lumbar disks, lumbar hyperlordosis, organ damage, mushy abdominals, tight hips, soft gluts, leg disorder, osteoporosis, foggy brain, hyper extended muscles). This deformed body will have effect on our future daily life.

Sedentary Laboratory is researching the implications of this sessile (fixed in one place; immobile) and fossilised living. The laboratory presents a forecast of what our lives will look like in the future by designing products that are anticipating on the bodily changes of bone, muscle and brain.
