Digital Marble Desktop
Our world is becoming more and more virtual. Although we are hypermobile in the digital world we are immobile on a physical level. The Digital Marble Desktop shows that we need little space to work and that we are rooted into the desk. Playing around with lost physicality and lost crafts I designed a new material: Digital Marble. Only using the physical part of the virtual world: the touchscreen. Does this desk show us the new digital workstation or does it invite us to write and bring back the forgotten function of a real desk? But isn’t it foolish to think that someone will sit down and write with pen and paper in future?
