Applied Ageing

We don’t live in era of changes but in a change of era. The current shifts in our society are fast and fundamental. This makes the young generation faster than ever. Applied Ageing is a translation of the arising gap between elderly and younger generation. It is a focus on the physical part of ageing: the wrinkled skin. By shaping the wrinkled textile into a children suit I could apply ageing onto a young human being. Young and old ‘touch’ each other. The gap is closed and at the same time it confronts us and the child with the tragedy and beauty of becoming older.
